Sam is now in her fourth year working for Thailand Dive and Sail. She will be your first point of call with Thailand Dive and Sail and will be the one who finds the right Similan or Burma liveaboard for you.
Having lived in Khao Lak for nearly ten years, Sam has a lot of local knowledge and tips for visiting Thailand in general. She speaks a little Thai (though can sometimes get caught out!), so might be of use with communications when you get here. Sam is very familiar with most of the nearby resorts and restaurants if you are looking for a recommendation of somewhere good to stay or eat.
Like many of the Thailand Dive and Sail team Sam comes from the UK. After studying Fine Art and Art History in London she decided to explore the world. While on her travels she became involved with charity projects in Australia. On her return to the UK she was offered a job managing a post-tsunami charity in Khao Lak which she accepted; after 6 years she left the charity to explore other avenues. Her first stop was See and Sea Org, Thailand Dive and Sail’s charity helping the indigenous Moken people, sharks and mantas in the Andaman Sea. After a month of working with the Thailand Dive and Sail team she realised their friendly office team spirit was where she wanted to be. So here she is today as a member of the land staff making sure e-mails get answered and customers are happy.
